Case Study: Shane Evans - from Bootcamp Learner to Techosaurus Associate
Before I joined the Bootcamp, I was in that funny space where business was busy but I was doing too much of the wrong work. I was spending hours prepping content, designing sessions, writing policies, mapping out ideas… all the stuff that drains your brain before you even get to the good bit. And I had this voice in my head saying, “AI’s for the tech people, not for you.” I thought I wasn’t technical enough. Proper imposter syndrome. It made me assume I’d be playing catch-up the whole way through.
The reality was very different. From the first couple of sessions I was surprised at how human the room felt. No jargon, no judgement, no pressure to be clever. Just people trying stuff, asking questions, laughing when it went wrong and cheering when it clicked. The first big click moment for me was when I used AI to turn a messy set of scribbled workshop notes into a clean, structured session with exercises, timings, outcomes and a proper flow. Something that would’ve taken me two hours took me about ten minutes. That was the day my brain went: “Alright… this changes everything.”
After the Bootcamp, the way I work changed massively. AI now saves me hours each week. Prepping for coaching sessions, designing workshops, creating content, planning LinkedIn posts, writing case studies, turning ideas into proper assets… it all moves faster. The quality jumped too. I’m producing things that feel more polished, more thought-through, and my clients can feel the difference. I’ve had people say, “I don’t know what you’re doing differently, but keep doing it.” That’s when you know something’s working.
Mapping out my business with AI was another game-changer. Instead of winging it or trying to hold everything in my head, I could see the whole thing laid out clearly. Offers, audience, bottlenecks, opportunities… it all made more sense. That clarity helped me restructure things, tighten my messaging and focus on the right work. And it’s had a real impact on my workflow and revenue because I’m spending more time with clients and less time buried in admin or content creation.
Becoming an Associate felt like a natural next step. I wanted to stay in the room, keep learning and help other people feel what I felt. I sometimes forget how intimidating AI can seem to people until I see that look of relief when something clicks for them. That’s the bit I love. I know I bring the human angle. The coaching angle. The no-shame, no-stupid-questions vibe. I’ve been the “non-tech” guy who thought he’d never get it. That makes me pretty good at helping others through the wobbles and into the wins.
There’s one moment that sticks in my mind: a learner was completely overwhelmed at the start, convinced she’d never be able to use AI in her business. A couple of weeks later she was showing us workflows she’d built, saving herself hours, absolutely buzzing with confidence. Seeing that flip is honestly magic. That’s what Techosaurus is all about. It’s not the tools. It’s the transformation.
Looking ahead, AI is going to shape my coaching work massively. I’ll be able to give clients frameworks, scripts, plans, reflections and tools that I could never have created at this speed before. It’s opened up ideas like digital products, automated onboarding, self-leadership assessments, content banks, all sorts. It’s already made me braver and more creative.
If someone feels “non-technical” but curious, my advice is the same as what I tell clients: just start. Play. Ask daft questions. Write rubbish prompts. Make mistakes. It’s not about being clever, it’s about being willing. Once it clicks, it becomes this incredible partner in your work.
I came into this Bootcamp doubting myself. I walked out with confidence, speed, clarity and a whole new way of working. And now I get to help other people unlock their own potential with it.
